Malvern

A Classic French Provincial style home and a perfect example of Ravida’s bespoke artisan built homes. Simple, but delicate this timeless façade reflects essence of classical European style with the size and floor plan to suit modern day living.

The front façade shows an understated elegance and sense of perfect balance. The thin rustication lines sculpt the structure of the building and custom-made windows outline the symmetry of the façade. Elements such as wrought iron balustrade, mouldings and coach lights add a further level of detail.

Archeron

Ravida tells another story of building a bespoke artisan home.

Ravida creates another piece of Melbourne’s interpretation of classic European design. A Classical style home with Georgian and French overtones.

The soft tones of the 50mm Daniel Robinson bricks combines with the Roman render to give the façade a lively, masculine feel. The double story pediment and brick projection adds to the strength and presence of the façade

Like all of our projects, a lot of time was dedicated into understanding the client. In this particular case, the client enjoys home cooking and family gatherings, and based on the client’s requirement we incorporated two different kitchens in the floor plan. The kitchens are well appointed with stone bench tops, Emporite cabinetry and Miele appliances. Apart from appearance, we also strongly emphasize on practicability, with a powerful wok burner, state of the art range hood and large sink in the second kitchen to facilitate daily cooking. An additional pantry was built to provide storage space and direct access to/from the 2nd kitchen to the formal dining room for entertaining.

The clients in that case had strong practical ideas and the design was as much about the ascetics as it was about the reality of day to day living of a family with 3 kids. Function over form? Perhaps, but not by much as this client’s ideas combined perfectly with our expertise and experience, using all our skill to end up with a truly remarkable home. Wonderful to look at, inviting and comfortable to walk through, a breeze to live in and efficiently designed and constructed so right on budget and represented great value for money.

St Kilda

Ravida’s bespoke artisan built home meets classic Mediterranean style.

The designer adopted different elements from Mediterranean building philosophy, and created a very special artisan built home in Bayside. Nine arched windows dominate the façade, along with sandstone colour render, terracotta roof, extended eaves with rafter tails and shutters together create a unique Mediterranean theme.

We aim to maximise every site for our clients and review all aspect and options before we even begin the design. In this instance, the property faces a busy main road and has North West to the front, but our clients wanted privacy, quiet and a nice sun filled yard for a pool and outdoor entertaining. After reviewing a few options with the clients we settled on a less traditional design, locating the front entry to the side street, using the laneway at the back for car access and placing the pool and outdoor entertaining in what is normally called the front yard. The benefits were clear, we got a nice wide façade entering off a quiet side street, we were able to build a large wall to the main road to protect the privacy and reduce noise. Further to this we were able to set the house well back which along with the double glazing and insulation ensures the home is nice and quiet. We were also able to put a nice balcony to the front where you can get a sneaky view of the bay and overlook the pool area.

Fairfield

A Classic French Provincial style home is combined with modern day practicality and efficiency. Another example of Ravida’s bespoke artisan built homes.

Designing a home for an active family with teenage children is not difficult, but taking advantage of a sloping site with local views and keeping within the councils ridged height controls (whilst still having the home looking terrific from the street) took a bit more thought.

Placing the garage under on the low side is a good start and it allowed for additional spaces. It also maximises the use of the land and clears the front elevation to allow for some symmetry. But it has to be carefully managed and several devices and techniques are used to ensure the home stays within the height restriction and doesn’t look squat but sits proudly and beautifully in the streetscape.

Semi-basement offers three car parking spaces, (or two cars and a boat) plus a theatre room, the laundry, with external access, a wine cellar and lots of storage. A lift connects all three levels. The ground floor is fully tiled with infloor slab heating which is remarkably efficient, silent and great with allergies. 3 metre ceiling height with decorative cornices and features run throughout the home. The master bedroom is on the ground floor with a beautiful ensuite and large walk in robe. There is also a formal living room and huge home office/library plus the large open kitchen, meals and family area. Upstairs has 3 very large bedrooms (all with large walk in robes and ensuites) plus the walk in linen room. The home also features a large multipurpose/TV room which opens out to the balcony that takes in the local views.

Oliver’s Hill

Ravida’s bespoke artisan built home in modern form. State of the art building with just about everything you could imagine.

This amazing water front property is a true testament to Ravida’s quality and workmanship. This property is located on a cliff and looks all across the bay from back towards the city right round to the Mornington Peninsula in what is a stunning vista. However, the site posed several challenges to our engineers and construction team. The land had been the site of an old council tip and wanting to build close to the cliff top to maximise the views there were some stability issues and a high wind category to contend with. Being aware of this early in the process enabled us to manipulate the house design, exact location and keep in control of the budget to ensure there were no nasty surprises.

Beyond understanding and selecting various construction methodologies (balancing cost and performance), the material selection was also critical. Special renders, windows and outdoor materials were selected to withstand the rigours of coastal weather.

The home itself offers a 4 car garage with loads of extra storage. The house is split in two by central stair and entry atrium with glass roof and void through to the two storey windows that wrap around the pool capturing the view and flooding the home with light.

On one side of the atrium are the 4 bedrooms (3 upstairs and 1 down), all master sized with large robes and dedicated ensuites, plus the study and laundry. On the other side of the atrium are the living areas with the formal room and home theatre towards the front of the home while the family kitchen area and the rumpus bar area take full advantage of the views and orientation. There is also a large gym that has its own view and there are 4 terraces/balconies that overlook the pool and the bay.

It really is a very special home.

Another masterpiece of Ravida’s bespoke artisan built home. The façade is inspired by classic Roma style, the arched pediment together with deep window reveals and brick projection creates a strong street presence while the specially designed mouldings and wrought iron balustrade add a touch of softness and elegance.

At Ravida we want all of our clients to achieve the best result possible. Our services and procedures enable us to review various design options, different building materials, different construction methods as well as the latest fixtures, fittings and appliances.

Being a commercial builder, we have access to construction methods and building materials at costs that most of our competitors are unable to achieve. Being a design and construction firm, we are able to price check the concept drawings and provide clear and accurate budget advice early in the design stage which avoids cost blow and offers a truly bespoke design experience.

This property has full-size basement which offers four plus car parking space, a cinema, wine cellar, loads of storage and a foyer for the stair and lift. The client didn’t like dark basements so we used a custom made opaque garage door that lets light through but looks solid from outside and doesn’t compromise the façade.

The client had strong ideas on what they wanted included and understood which features would work for their lifestyle. The design included an indoor pool, a kids study area near the kitchen, a large upstairs laundry as well as a small one downstairs, a space for a mid-grand piano as well as the usual elements in our family homes. It was also beautifully appointed with custom designed cast iron front doors, 3.3 meter ceiling height, Liebherr fridge, Miele cooktops, oven, dishwasher commercial grade rangehood, custom designed cabinetry, Grohe taps, Villeroy and Boch toilets and sinks, floor to ceiling tiles in bathrooms, state of the art heating and cooling, solar hot water systems just to name a few.

Maxwell
